- Reception 2021
“Every child deserves the best possible start in life and support to fulfil their potential. A child’s experience in the early years has a major impact on their future life chances. A secure, safe and happy childhood is important in its own right, and it provides the foundation for children to make the most of their abilities and talents as they grow up.” Statutory Framework for the Early Years Foundation Stage 2007
Welcome to Warberry Academy and the Foundation Stage of your child’s education. We are part of a multi-academy trust, providing a stimulating and enriching environment with an exciting range of educational and personal development opportunities for children from the age of 2 to 11 years.
We understand that choosing a school is one of the most important decisions you will have to make as a parent/carer, therefore we have set up this webpage to provide you with as much information as possible and answer any questions that you may have.
Our vision here at Warberry Academy is to transform children’s lives and, we believe, every child deserves the best possible foundation for their education. We provide an outstanding curriculum, where every child is treated as an individual as they begin their unique learning journey to achieve their fullest potential.
During their first year of school, every child will experience a rich and inspiring provision that encourages independence, curiosity and wonder. As established EYFS practitioners, we understand and embrace the importance of young children learning through play. This child-led approach allows pupils to develop as learners in a way in which they find enjoyable and is tailored to their own interests and personalities. Throughout 2020, our EYFS provision has undergone a fantastic transformation and we were fortunate enough to be granted funding to redevelop our environment to encourage the use of real life skills and a love for learning. As a team, we are very proud and excited to showcase our classes and we hope this is evident through our photos and video.
In Reception, your child will have their own individual learning journal, accessible through Tapestry. This in an incredibly useful platform that will provide you with photographs and observations of your child. Throughout the year, this will give you an insight into your child’s progress and is a wonderful tool to encourage discussions and conversations of their adventures, as they journey through life in their first year of school.
We hope that you find the information on this page useful, please do not hesitate to contact us and we will endeavour to get back to you as soon as possible. Enjoy the video!
